Vellore Educational & Social Trust was formed in the year 2010 by educationists to provide good quality affordable education to the rural youth (especially women) in the region to enhance their employment prospects and thereby elevate their social status.
The intent was not just to make them employable but also character building by inculcating moral & ethical values. The focus was also to equip them with appropriate social skills and professional outlook besides technical skills.

Late Mr. Krishnamoorthy founded Vellore Educational Trust in 2010 with a vision of providing quality education and employment opportunities for the rural youth of Vellore. He hailed from a middle class family, a veterinarian by profession, but his strong passion for education and commitment to provide a bright future for the rural youth made him an educationist. Slowly but surely, he held on to his dreams and worked hard to turn them in to reality. |

Late Mr. Ramesh Babu always had a yearning to spread knowledge and in some way contribute to the development of the under-privileged youth in Vellore. His burning desire to give back to the society finally took shape with the establishment of Vellore Educational Trust and eventually Vellore Polytechnic College (VPT). He was a visionary and a perfectionist, who never accepted anything substandard. He made the students & faculty realize that only relentless hard work and dedication can help them achieve personal excellence. As Chairman, he guided the institution from 2014 to 2019. |
